Visiting the farm

Members and friends are welcome to visit the farm most any time.  Please remember, though, that the farm is also a private home.  Please plan ahead with the family so as not to disturb their work or family time if possible.

The Lambright family asks that there are no visitors on Sundays.  The family works long hours the rest of the week and enjoys their Sundays for church, family, and rest.

While walking through the gardens, please be careful to stay on the paths, and not to damage any plants if possible.

Feel free to ask questions, to discover new things, share recipes or ideas.

When visiting the farm, for your safety, please consider the following:
  1. Please, do not bring your pets with you.  This is a working farm, and there are too many animals and people around to make a safe, calm environment for animals new to the farm.
  2. Consider wearing longer pants or skirts, longer sleeved shirts, and sturdy shoes.  While touring the farm, you may come across bugs or plants that are not so pleasant, such as mosquitoes, poison ivy or stinging nettles.  The gardens do have thistles which can be a bother to exposed feet and legs.  These are hazards associated with a farm that doesn't use chemicals.  They are not terribly dangerous to most people, but they are unpleasant.
  3. Be prepared for heat.  Bring water, sunscreen, etc. as your family needs require.
  4. Stick to the clear paths.  Farm equipment and fencing are located all around the farm, in places that are convenient for use, but out of the way.  You might be unpleasantly surprised by a bit of barbed wire if you wander from the trails.
  5. Be prepared to see animals.  If you have small children, be sure they ask before touching, and do not allow them to wander unattended or enter into any buildings or fences.  Please remind them that it is a farm, not a petting zoo, and not all of the animals care to be bothered.
  6. Be prepared to get dirty.  Farming is not always neat and clean.  Come dressed to dig in the dirt or walk through the mud, as the farm may have both on any given day!
  7.  The facilities at the farm are rustic, aka no electricity or other modern facilities.  There is an outhouse available, and fresh (cold) well water for basic washing.

We hope to see you there!  If you have any questions or comments, please contact Stacy.
